Taskmasters

These are iterations of a performance done under the moniker "Taskmaster". The sculpture/instrument uses light, motors, guitars, and a hand-made optical tremolo. The tremolo, influenced by shadow, controls the signal and intensity of the amplified sound produced by a small motor playing ambiently on a guitar. The shadow is shaped by the rotating element of the sculpture, which can spin at varying speeds, altering the tempo of the sound. I play a second guitar, and jam with the sculpture. All sound heard is live and directly impacted by light, motors, and environmental (natural or man-made) happenings.
